Dallas Black Dance theatre and Dallas Black chamber of commerce partner for the Arts

Dallas Black Dance Theatre (DBDT) partners with Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce (DBCC) as it closes its 41st season with the Spring Celebration Series May 18-20, 2018, at the Wyly Theatre, Dallas, Texas. The partnership is part of an initiative for DBCC members to understand the significance of the arts on the community and the business sector. The Dallas Tourism and Public Improvement District is the guest artist sponsor for the performance. Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce members will receive a promo code that reduces the price of DBDT orchestra level seats by 20 percent.

The Spring Celebration Series performance includes the athletic and daring Undeviated Passage choreographed by Ray Mercer, a 16-year veteran on Broadway in Disney’s Tony Award-winning The Lion King. Ulysses Dove maneuvers six women dancers as vessels of his grandmother’s spirit in a soulful worship through the 1986 dance Vespers. Veteran DBDT dancer Claude Alexander III choreographed Face what’s facing you! as an honest, soul-stirring exploration of how challenges make us victorious.

“An arts event is a great place to network, to entertain clients or reward employees,” said Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce President Marnese Barksdale Elder. “We support the arts at the Black Chamber and want to make sure our members understand our collective reach in supporting the arts, which provides effective ways to improve their business.”
