Woman in Labour Leads to Emergency Landing

A Delta Airlines flight bound for Atlanta from Amsterdam was forced to make an emergency landing in Ireland after a woman went into labor soon after take-off. According to the Daily Mail, the flight crew quickly declared an emergency over England and the plane was diverted to Shannon Airport in Ireland.


The Clare Herald reported that there were fears the woman would go into labor on the plane due to the fact that her contractions were about a minute apart. Emergency medical crew were waiting on the runway when the plane landed.

According to reports the woman gave birth shortly after being admitted to the hospital and mother and baby are doing just fine.
